Rainbows

This last week marked 6 years since brain and spinal cord injuries reshaped how I experience and interact with the world.

I had to smile a bit after reflecting upon such a grand and symbolic moment after the storm rolled through our area.

The abruptness and intensity of this storm left me lying on the bedroom floor with overwhelming vertigo, tinnitus, and nausea but was replaced shortly thereafter with a moment of immersive childlike wonder as Hope saw her first rainbow - a promise from God.

She is our rainbow child.

She is a living and breathing symbolic promise that such tragedy will never happen again in my family.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

This verse has spoken to my heart so many times through some of the darkest and longest moments of healing and recovery. He has indeed given me Hope - and every day a beautiful unfolding of the promises our future is gifted to us.

I’m so incredibly grateful for her and all the lessons I’ve learned so far on the journey and for all of you who have walked this path with me too. I pray you too see rainbows in your life - promises … that you too have hope and a future.

With Love,

Rhonda
